JIS G3460 Steel pipes Appearance

Appearance shall be as follows.

a) The pipes shall be straight, and the both ends shall be perpendicular to the pipe axis for practical purposes.

b) Both the internal and external surfaces of pipes shall be smoothly finished and free from defects detrimental to use.

c) Pipes may be repaired by grinding or machining, provided that the wall thickness of the product after repairing satisfies the specified tolerances. Repair by weldingis not permitted.

d) The surface of the repaired part shall be smooth along the contour of the pipe.

e) The external surface of the part where a weld bead was removed shall be smooth along the contour of the pipe.
