General Product Description
ASTM A517 Grade F is a high-strength, quenched and tempered alloy steel plate intended for pressure vessel applications. A517 Grade F is available in thicknesses up to 2.5 in. and has a minimum yield strength of 100 ksi. ASTM A517 Grade F also has required Charpy V-notch impact property requirements.

Mechanical Properties
Tensile Test: Tensile testing is performed in the transverse direction according to ASTM A20 requirements.

Mechanical Testing
Charpy V-Notch Impact Properties: A trasverse Charpy V-notch lateral expansion of 0.015” [0.38 mm] in individual specimens is required. The test temperature shall be agreed upon between the manufacturer and purchaser. Please inquire for required Charpy V-notch test temperature and for other specified minimum impact property requirements.
